Results for the club TT are on the results page. Congratulations to all who participated.

Congrats to all who participated at the Metropolitan Championships. In the criterium, Glenn picking up a bronze in Masters A. Among the junior results, Kayla M and Christian P both finishing 4th. Christian was only introduced to cycling through the School cycling programme  12 months ago, a great effort and keep up the good work Christian, a win is not far away.

The Metro road race saw Glenn finish 4th with John K finishing masters B in good shape. The race was held on an extremely windy day with all divisions having just a handful of riders finishing. In the under15's Ben C finished in 7th place

This years Avanti handicap saw a strong showing from the Logan club. John Kelley lead the race until a few kilometres to go, finally finishing in 6th place overall. Glenn starting in a group further back finished not far behind and was the 4th fastest Master overall in a time that would have placed him 44th among the Elite Men. Congratulations on a fine ride by both members.

KP & Logan City Junior Road Carnival was conducted on the Crestmead course on Mothers Day Sunday 11th May, 2008.
See how our juniors performed on the results page

The Anzac Day criteriums at Lakeside raceway were held in perfect autumn conditions. Our hard working Junior Development Officer set a fine example for the youngsters by taking the win in the 55 strong Masters C field. Dave won the day by sneaking into the break with two laps to go then breaking away at the bell. Well done Dave, glad to see you back in form.

Long ride coming up for the Silver Fox........

The Sydney to Surfers Cycle Tour raises much needed funds for Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets charity.

Youth Off The Streets supports chronically homeless and drug addicted young Australians as they work to turn their lives around.

It is their goal that these young people will leave their care drug free, with a high school education, living skills and a full or part time job in hand.

Based on the philosophy that every young person has greatness within, these programs are non-denominational and non-discriminatory.

CYCLE SCENE SIZZLING SUMMER SERIES 2008

  Race Results

The 2008 Sizzling Summer Series are February 10 & 24, March 2 & 16. Again the race in being supported by Logan City Council, with the major sponsor of this years event being Cycle Scene and Bontrager. Details can be found on the flyer at Sizzling Summer Series or on the web page link.

There will be a slight increase in entry fees this year, however, your entry also includes a ticket in the lucky draw each week for a set of Bontrager wheels .

A discount is offered for those entering all four events and entries will only be taken on line via the CQ web site. Start times for the various grades will be confirmed as we get closer to the event date. This will give your New Years training added focus with last years entries exceeding 300 riders every week.

Congratulation to Glenn Fordham finishing 6th (C Grade) in the 228km Grafton-Inverell Classic. After cresting the 18km climb in third, Glenn suffered cramping, eventually finishing second in the bunch sprint only 5 minutes behind the winner, with Inverell club members occupying 4 of the first 6 placings. 'A' Grade, won by Cameron Hughes, failed to catch 'C' Grade in this years hot conditions with the traditional 140km headwind run to the line.

Paul KT soldiered on like a true Trojan after being dropped from the bunch (only 86/130 riders in C Grade finished), eventually finishing just outside of the cut-off, but finished none the less..  Well done both riders.

Chris Scott has again returned victorious from the World Championships, this year held in Bordeaux, France. He successfully defended his track Pursuit title, even with a deflating front tyre. Chris finished 3rd in the Kilo (with the winner breaking Chris' world record time) and also picked up 3rd in the Road Time Trial (with 1st - 6th all within 30 seconds of each other).

A great effort considering his preparation this year was interrupted in February with a broken collar bone from a race fall. Bring on Beijing 2008.
